Good day ladies and gents of the X-Army, hope you are all doing well. Welcome back to Ask The Balding One, a segment where I scrape through the internet for questions to give my opinion on. Any Advice For Feeling Stuck or Unhappy At A Job?

Answer |

Good day and thanks for the great question. I would honestly say you would need to revisit your WHY for wanting to work or having a specific job. Do you work just to have a job, to have something to do or is it a means to a goal you have in the long-run? We all feel this way at times and it’s hard to reignite that spark when it starts to fade. You may need a new project that allows you both challenge and a feeling of your validity at a given organization. Maybe it could be as simple as just asking for more work to keep you busy so you are constantly busy. I myself need to be constantly busy so that my mind doesn’t wonder too much and that I don’t feel boredom. Just have a look within yourself and evaluate why you work and what your goals are, see if you can have a conversation with your employer for additional responsibility so you are constantly busy to not overthink things or feel boredom, and just make sure what you are doing is something you enjoy. Beyond the fact we need an income to survive in this world, make sure that the job you spend hours going to back and forth is something you enjoy. See if you can do these things and I honestly hope you find your joy for your job again. All the best and be safe out there. God bless!
